Stress & overwhelm support in St Helens
When your head is full, your body is tense and even small things start to feel harder, it can become difficult to think clearly or properly switch off.
Stress can become an automatic response pattern
Workload, family pressure, uncertainty, conflict or too many demands can all create genuine stress. But sometimes the response keeps running even when the immediate situation is over — mentally replaying, anticipating tomorrow, feeling irritable, struggling to rest or carrying tension into relationships.
The aim is not to pretend the pressures do not exist. It is to help you respond to them in a way that gives you more clarity, control and recovery.
You may recognise:
- Difficulty switching off after work.
- Feeling mentally overloaded or constantly “on”.
- Irritability or emotional reactions you later regret.
- Overthinking decisions and conversations.
- Tension before difficult situations.
- Feeling that everything is urgent at once.

Map the pressure points
We identify where stress rises, what you focus on, what you tell yourself and what behaviours follow.
Work with the response
NLP, EFT/Tapping, anchoring, reframing, coaching and other change-work methods may be used depending on the situation.
Build recovery
We work towards practical ways to settle more quickly, think more clearly and stop carrying every pressure into the next part of your day.
The goal is not a stress-free life
Pressure is part of life. The useful question is whether you can handle it without it dominating your mood, sleep, relationships, confidence or ability to make decisions. For many people, the outcome they want is to feel more resilient, recover faster and have clearer boundaries between pressure and the rest of life.
Start with the problem, not the method
You do not need to know whether NLP, EFT, coaching or another approach is right for you. Start with what is happening and what you want to change.
Frequently asked questions
Is this stress management training or one-to-one support?
This page describes one-to-one support. I also provide workplace wellbeing workshops and training for organisations.
Can this help if work is the main source of stress?
Potentially. We can work with your own response patterns, boundaries, communication and ways of handling pressure. The work does not remove organisational problems but can help you develop more options in how you respond.
What happens in the first consultation?
We discuss what is creating the most difficulty, how it affects daily life and what you want to be different, then I advise on the most appropriate next step.
You do not need to know the solution or the best way forward.
Tell me what is happening, how it is affecting you and what you would like to be different. The Free Change Consultation is a 15–30 minute conversation where I can understand what you are dealing with, answer your questions and advise you on the most appropriate next step.
Sessions are primarily online across the UK. Face-to-face sessions may also be available where appropriate.
