Grief & emotional release support in St Helens
Loss can change how life feels. Sometimes the aim is not to “get over” what happened, but to find a way to carry the memory without the same level of emotional weight controlling everyday life.
Grief and emotional pain do not follow a timetable
People can carry sadness, anger, guilt, regret, resentment or a sense that something has never properly settled. That may relate to bereavement, the end of a relationship, a major life change or another painful experience.
I do not try to erase memories or tell people how they “should” feel. Where appropriate, change work can focus on the emotional response that continues to be triggered now and on helping you move towards a different relationship with the experience.
You may be looking for support because:
- A loss still feels emotionally overwhelming.
- You replay what happened or what you wish had been different.
- Guilt, anger or regret keeps resurfacing.
- You avoid reminders or situations connected with the experience.
- You want to remember without being pulled into the same response every time.
Reduce the influence of the emotional response — not the importance of the person or event
Understand what still triggers
We identify the memories, meanings, images, beliefs or situations that continue to activate the strongest response.
Work carefully with the emotion
Depending on suitability, I may draw from NLP, EFT/Tapping, Time Line-style processes, reframing, belief work or other focused change methods.
Move towards what you want back
That may be peace, connection, freedom from guilt, the ability to talk about what happened, or permission to engage with life again.
Grief support is not about erasing the past
The aim is not to remove love, memory or meaning. It is to explore whether the emotional response can become less overwhelming or less controlling.
Start with the problem, not the method
You do not need to know whether NLP, EFT, coaching or another approach is right for you. Start with what is happening and what you want to change.
Frequently asked questions
Are you a bereavement counsellor?
No. I provide non-clinical coaching and change-focused support. For specialist bereavement counselling or clinical trauma treatment, an appropriately qualified service may be more suitable.
What do you mean by emotional release?
I use the phrase to describe work aimed at reducing the intensity or influence of an unwanted emotional response. It does not mean forgetting or erasing the past.
Can I talk through whether this is appropriate before booking?
Yes. The Free Change Consultation is the right place to discuss what happened, what you are experiencing now and whether my approach is suitable.
You do not need to know the solution or the best way forward.
Tell me what is happening, how it is affecting you and what you would like to be different. The Free Change Consultation is a 15–30 minute conversation where I can understand what you are dealing with, answer your questions and advise you on the most appropriate next step.
Sessions are primarily online across the UK. Face-to-face sessions may also be available where appropriate.
